Word World – Where Words Come Alive
The creator of Word World – Where Words Come Alive must be a genius! A REAL genius! Thank goodness for Word World!
We were first introduced to Word World back in January 2010 when Darling redeemed a set of Word World VCD’s from his credit card points. Ethan loves it instantly that his collection of Word World VCD/DVDs has been growing tremendously throughout the years. His latest Word World episode is Mmm.. Mmm… Milk.
Mmm… Mmm… Milk
I very super salute this episode. I kenot thank this episode enough! You know why? Let me tell you why.
There is a scene where Pig says, “You have to try everything new. If you don’t try it, how would you know that you DON’T like it?” (or something along that line.. )
KABOOM! Ethan has been living with that philosophy ever since! Yesterday I fed him something new, roti MILO (to him it’s new-lah, to us it’s not :P). Initially he refused to eat it insisting to have his daily cheese bread instead. But suddenly, he recalls what PIG said and told that me, “Pig says ‘you have to try everything new. If you don’t try it, how would you know that you DON’T like it?’
That very instant, I put my hands together and said out loud, “THANK YOU!” I dunno who I was thanking (most probably the creator of Word World but they won’t be able to hear me anyway) but if you are a mother like me, you’ll know how difficult it is sometimes when you introduce something new to your child and he refused to take it. Now, all I have to do is remind Ethan what PIG said and he’ll try it :D
But guess what? No matter how much impact PIG’s words are to Ethan, he still won’t want to try DURIAN! Arrgh!!! If only I can find a solution to THAT!! >_<
My daughter is a fan of Word World too. She watches it over Disney Junior but I haven't notice that episode yet or maybe we've missed it. But you know what even before this, I've told her that exact sentence before. It doesn't work for my girl. Sigh. Maybe I need Pig to tell her that only she will listen. How sad.
Carolyn, I've learned by now that what we Mommies say to the kids usually don't have that much impact unlike PIG or their teachers or something/someone they look up too. He listens very much to his teachers these days… and PIG too :P
LOL. okok I MUST GET THAT EPISODE! what is the name of that episode may I ask?
Sorry just realised it's Mmm Mmm Milk right? LOL.
Don't force him lah, aiyo >.<
haha… me durian queen, MUST make him eat durian at least a BIT! Muaahahahhaha… u think i that bad meh? I wont force him ler… :P
Aiya, I think after years seeing a durian queen eat durians, someday he'll start trying to eat it. Look at the bright side, he won't fight over the durians with you now. You can eat all that durian by yourself. LOL
Never mind la.. some people just can't accept durians… hmmm
My kids love word world too and will believe in what their cartoons tell them to do more than their parents.
I'm a fan of Word World too!! Ha ha ha.. ^_^.v.. And Ethan,we can hang out together if Ur parent wanna go and eat Durians.. Together we Say " We Hate Durians.. Ho Ho Ho"
Oh it's almost like my motto – "There's always a first time for everything and blogging is no different…" Haha!!
But I think there some things that cant be applied for example drugs and smoking. Do you want Ethan to try drugs and smoking?
>_<
Oh! I hope he'll eat durians! It's so yummy! Maybe he will like it when he grows up : )
High 5 Merryn. Gwen watched that episode too..LOL. She told me she wanna try eating watermelon, kiwi again…fruits that she tried before but didn't like.
That's wat we call tv influence. And I really like this kind of +ve influence. My boy's current fav is Super Why. It's on Astro channel 610, got DVDs/VCDs too. They teach vy good values.
Some even with song "try it and you like it". Those left over food will cried as they wanna party in your tummy. Very good influence.
I like Word World too…But I never notice Pig saying that. Anyway, about durian don't worry…he will like it later….
This is indeed a very good phrase. I must remember it and tell my girls too.
hahaha, so did he like the roti milo?? actually what is roti milo?? spread the milo powder on a piece of bread, and drizzle with condensed milk?? want him to eat durian, start from light ones like durian cake or durian puffs lah~~
gosh..these are so new to me.. i m so backdated… anyway.. what i wanna say is durians.. when my nephew was very young like ethan's age, he didnt like to eat durians.. but now being a teenager, durians is top on his list!!
ya, he might change his mind about durian when he is older.
World Word is very good, my daughter learn a lot through the program too especially spelling and pronounciation.
Btw, give Ethan sometime to change his mind to try one durian. I believe he would change his mind one day if he always gets approaches of it.
Hehe, durians, your favourite food! :)
Wow, you must really really love that book now eh :)
That is a great cartoon.. I try to get Dylan to watch it too cos I love that they teach them to spell and also the morals behind the cartoon!
Dun worry that Ethan wont eat durian, cos when he does, he will be fighting with you leh!! :D
