Ikan oh Ikan…
There are 3 of us at home. The cook, the little boss and the big boss. The cook’s mom gave the cook a huge ikan tenggiri if I’m not mistaken when she came for a visit not too long ago.
Today, the big boss is down with throat irritation. He wants to eat steamed fish. The little boss wants fried fish with browned garlic all over and the cook is craving for something spicy. What did the cook do?
The cook chopped the fish into 3 parts = Big, bigger, biggest. The big portion for the cook, bigger cut for the big boss and the biggest portion for the little boss.
The biggest portion of fish for the little boss
The BEFORE look..
The AFTER look. Fried to perfection with browned garlic strewn all over it.
BEFORE
AFTER. Steamed just nice with lots of mushroom, drenched in oyster sauce and sesame oil
BEFORE
AFTER. Steamed with Gimson Nyonya Sauce. Read my Quickie Fish entry to learn more about Gimson Nyonya Sauce. This is simply the best! The fragrant aroma of lemongrass can never go wrong!
The 3 fish dishes
The little boss’ fish. I can fry wicked fish I tell you! Crispy on the outsides, moist and tender on the insides.. :P
Little Boss forking the fish ^^
Oh yeah, the cook fried this daun keledek with lots of garlic and chinese wolf berries too. Simply delicious!
That’s all for our simple lunch today. It’s St. Patrick’s Day and we will be going to Changkat Bukit Bintang tonite for a major celebration! One problem though.. we don’t have GREEN outfits! Nevermind, I hope everyone else will be so colour blind that when we wear red, they’ll see us as GREEN! :P
Merryn: U are simply a great cook lor!
a very good cook that can fulfill all requirements from the bosses.. and that fried fish is indeed wicked.. :)
Salute u lar….if me, just eat what the cook will cook….akakakkak
And then, everyone is happy , the happiest shall be the cook, the big boss is happy too have such a great wifey, and little boss ,when he grows up will find someone like the cook to be the wife……..
