I celebrate Kuih Ee.. not Winter Solstice
I grew up celebrating Kuih Ee and not Winter Solstice. I never knew it is called Winter Solstice until last year when I read bloggers blogging about it! Imagine that! *Things I learnt from reading blogs* LoL!
Being a weekday, we did not go back to our hometown to celebrate Kuih Ee. My parents will be up in KL though tomorrow :D
So what did we do today? We went to Grand Dorsett Subang Hotel.
Ethan @ The Emperor, Grand Dorsett Subang Hotel
Ethan was such a darling today. He entertained himself while I was busy at work. Mommy’s so proud of you, son :) Love you lots, muaks!
Since it is Winter Solstice, the hotel treated us to glutinous rice ball (Tang Yuan) before proceeding with the food tasting. The food review will be in another blog entry though for today all I wanna write about is our Kuih Ee and Christmas @ Grand Dorsett :P
While I was busy snapping away, Chloe of Oriental Daily came over and fed the poor boy some glutinous rice balls. Thank you Chloe :D It’s so cute to see Ethan warming-up to Chloe in such a short time and even allows her to feed him! He rarely or should I say never let a stranger feed him :)
After the hearty lunch, we were presented with a beautifully tied-up gift.
Ethan got very excited with the gift. He seems to be getting lots of gifts lately :)
Once we got into the car, Ethan excitedly told me to open the gift and got even more excited when he saw that – a Christmas fruit cake! He loves the reindeer and snowman :D
The first thing I did upon entering the house was to slice the cake as Ethan was very excited to eat it already :D
Before we leave, let me share with you the Christmas decor @ Grand Dorsett Subang Hotel.
The first thing that greeted us at the lobby was Santa and his reindeer. Very nice!
Beautiful Christmas tree
Ethan loves this castle
The fireplace inside the castle
Christmas goodies for sale
That is all for our Kuih Ee cum Christmas today. Have a look at Ethan after our hearty lunch…
Full to the brim, he is ready to doze off :D
I hope you’ve had a nice Kuih Ee dinner with your family and loved ones and also, Merry Christmas, Feliz Navidad :)
Very cute that kiddy! And very nice foods :O drooling omg
Haha Kuih Ee and Feliz Navidad only 3 days apart. Lots of nice gifts for Ethan one lucky kid..

Aww Ethan is so 'guai'! Deserves a big pat on the back! And the fruit cake looks nice!! Yum!
Me too! Didn't know the name of the festival until I started reading about it in the blogs. Used to call it "ciak (eat) ee" festival…The fruit cake looks dry – drown it with brandy and chill…and keep till Christmas…if there's any left. LOL!!!
LOL, me 3, didn't even know it's called Winter Solstice until I know my husband!;pLooking forward for your food review post!^-^
