Horror in Singapore Night Safari

The first day we were in Singapore, we spent half a day resting in our hotel room. In the evening, we waited anxiously at the lobby of our hotel for the Fun Vee Hopper to take us to the Tourist Hub at the Singapore Flyer to validate our Night Safari ticket. After validating our tickets, they took us to the Night Safari…
The Fun Vee Hopper that took us to the Night Safari and back to our hotel
Night Safari Singapore. We were very excited up to this point. It will be our very first time seeing the animals in a different light, night time! Ethan was extremely excited too. He loves animals!
BUT………
As soon as we entered the Night Safari, our horror begun!

THIS appeared out of NO WHERE!
And when we had just recovered from that rude shock, THIS came SCREAMING at US! By now Darling had to hug Ethan SO tight and close his eyes and ears!
Then THIS thing came tugging and pulling after US! CABUT!!!!!!!!!!!!
After all the running I spotted a CLOWN! Quickly I told Darling to bring Ethan to the clown to relief him of all the eerie commotion earlier. BUT………
As the clown turned around, it was so darn bloody it horrified the little one even MORE!
We took quick steps and seek shelter by the road side. By now we were a little hungry and saw a stall selling steam buns a.k.a PAU. And there were people! You can’t imagine our delight ! We MUST go and ask what is going ON! Quickly we went over to inquire and also to get some Pau and DimSum but just like a bad nightmare, the horror just kept on going!!!
When I removed the cover to check what type of DimSum they are selling, I saw THIS!!
A moving human head! Aarrgggggggghhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!
With NO sights of animals but only GHOSTS chasing after us, we ran helter skelter to dunno where when we were abruptly stopped by a bridal couple..
This walking spirit of a bridal couple can make me DIE there and then. CRY! What is GOING ON??!!
Wandering spirits were everywhere! Brushing against us as we run further and further into horror!

LoL! Scared the heck out of you yet? Wet your pants already? The above happened because we purchased Night Safari’s Halloween Horrors.
Every October, the Singapore Night Safari opens up to visitors, a hidden section of its safari (the Gate of the Neverland) where creatures of darkness roams and hunts for food. Visitors can explore this section from the safety of a guided train ride. This special train ride – available only during this October Halloween period, takes a detour from the normal animal sightseeing ride to bring you into the depth of the Neverland.
Night Safari Halloween Horrors, not for the faint hearted!
Enter at your own RISK!
After all those horrifying creatures we met outside, we proceeded with the Night Safari Train of Horrors. Don’t know for whatever reason when we wanted to queue, the staff there lead us to the Japanese train ride. I thought we are going to ride into Japanese ghosts territory or something when I realised that that the RIDE will be in Japanese speaking guide. Quickly I told Darling that we were lead to the wrong place and we went back to the original queue. Apologizing for what had happen, the staff let us in immediately. We managed to skip the more than half an hour queue waiting time.
Ethan enjoyed the ride as he got to see animals especially the elephant sleeping. It was our first time witnessing an elephant sleeping. The elephant sleeps just like us, on their sides! How cute! Then we saw hippo, tiger, tapir and more. Too bad no flash photography were allowed, hence no photographs to share here. But it’s a good thing also, the animals need their rest and the camera flashes will just agitate them further.
But the train ride is not a safe ride as you’ll never know who will be sitting next to you. Ghosts, spirits and more will just pop out of no where, from the bushes or behind the trees and jump onto the train with an extremely LOUD scream!
How did Ethan went through all these? Darling hugged him tight during the whole journey, closing his eyes and ears and only allowing Ethan to look when there are animals in sight. After that Darling will quickly close Ethan’s eyes and ears again. But the screaming and shouting were extremely loud. We had to tell Ethan that those are naughty people screaming!
After the ride ended, we took a slow walk back to where we were chased earlier. Here they are in a different light…
Dim Sum anyone? The ‘DimSum head’ guy’s hand can actually come out of that crate and grab you when you least expect it!
Avatar gone wrong? LoL! Not so scary anymore, eh? :P
Clown oh clown, whatever happened to YOU?!
Ethan did not actually see any of those ugly faces. He had his eyes closed most of the times, such an obedient kid! :D
This is the way they served the drinks that night. You just take a shot into your mouth!
Finger food anybody? LoL…
The price of food here is totally ridiculous. Look at the chicken rice dish above. Can you guess how much that cost? A whopping S$17! Crazy eh?
They hope we had a frightfully fun time. I think I won’t go to a Night Safari anymore as it is such a bore to see animals at their most passive hour in the dark! I prefer to see them in the broad day light :D
We hopped onto the Fun Vee Hop On Hop Off and got back to our hotel all tired and sticky. It was very humid in the Night Safari!

That’s all for our first day in Singapore. Coming up next is MY favourite – Universal Studio :D

P/S: Thanx for your concern everyone but Ethan has NO nightmare whatsoever that night because as I what I wrote, we did not let him see those ghosts. He only saw animals and heard the loud noises but he did not see those ghosts :D Even in the DimSum pic, he was unaware of the ‘head’ there. Cheers :)

  • //

omg they all look really scary la!! :D

Its bad exposure for little kids his age to all these scary ghosts which might imprint into their gentle mind. Hopefully he did not have nitemares thereafter. See kids's mind are suppose to be pure and fearless but once they 'capture' these images in them then they start to fear, they dare not go dark places, dare not go toilet alone etc..kesian Ethan never expected Halloween to coincide with Nite Safari right.

  • //
