If you don’t drive, SHUT UP!

Bananaz’s latest post reminded me of my trip to Penang late last year.

He wrote about a flyover in Penang near to Lam Wah Ee hospital. What’s so special about that flyover? That flyover is nicknamed ‘gostan flyover’ because its a single lane flyover and only one car can go through it and in case of any accident or car breakdown, all those cars behind will have to ‘gostan’ hence the nickname.

Back to my story, that time we just got back from Prai after dinner. It was way past midnite and we were all tired. Our friend KY drove and I was half asleep at the back with Ethan. I knew we were lost as he kept on driving in circles.

Just as I opened my eyes, I saw him driving up to that single lane flyover. I shouted, “KY, you fool! This is a motor lane!” That got him startled and the four of us adults in the car panicked! He did not know if we should stop and reverse or to just go ahead. I can see panic in his eyes. And then, we saw cars coming from behind and by then, we were already through that flyover :D

That got us laughing like crazy. We laughed so hard until there were tears in our eyes. I laughed because KY’s face was so funny to the max! (Like the smiley picture up there :P) Imagine seeing him ‘terkejut beruk’ like that! We laughed all the way back to our hotel. But I think HE did not laugh… lol :P Still I laughed the LOUDEST! Anyway, the moral of the story is, “If you don’t drive, SHUT UP!”

I’ve a driver’s license for more than a decade now but I DON’T drive. Period. That incident of me exclaiming foolishly had definitely put a driver in a limbo :P I knew then that he wanted to strangle me if possible but refrained as Darling was seated next to him :D

So from now onwards, you drive, I’ll just… keep quiet :P

Merryn..the radio also advertised this.. those sitting beside, dont utter a word.. can cause accident one.. i forgot the name he used to call those cakap a lot one beside the driver.. very hilarious one.. :p

Bananaz- We took that turn oso because of a wrong turn.. by the time everything was over, we don't wish to go up there again! lol.. but if i ever go there again, i'll definitely take a pic. actually, YOU should help take one :D

Even the Penang Bridge…once a car breaks down or there is an accident, habis liao….jam like hell and you'll be stuck there for hours! They should increase the toll to reduce the traffic. Maybe they can give discounts to cars with four passengers to encourage car pooling – the island is so small and so congested.

I support this policy" if you dont drive, shut up" good good very good… let the driver in charge,if you keep talking and talking by the side,,, confused lah the driver ,right?

Yup, that's the policy when hubs' driving. If I 'scare' him (ter-shouted or something), sure kena scolded one.
