Multiplication made easy
I am not a genius when it comes to the timetables. A student of mine recently taught me this method for the multiplication of 6’s.
Your regular clock will come in handy for this.
1 x 6 = ?
Look at your clock. The minute hand must be on the number that will be multiplied with 6. In this case, it is 1. If the minute hand is at number 1, how many minutes does that indicate? 5 minutes right? Take the number 5 and add with the number on the clock, that is 1, equals to 6!
So, 1x6=6
Let’s try it again.
2 x 6 = ?

2 x 6 = ?
Look at the clock again. The minute hand must be on the number that will be multiplied with 6. In this case, it is 2. So at number 2, the minute hand is indicating 10 minutes, right? Take the number 10 + 2 (being the number that is being multiplied by 6 in this case). Equal 12!
So, 2 x 6 = 12
One more time.
7 x 6 = ?
Minute hand on 7 equivalent to 35 minutes. 35 + 7 = 42
7 x 6 = 42
Last try.
9 x 6 =
Minute hand on 9 equivalent to 45 minutes. 45 + 9 = 54
9 x 6 = 54
Isn’t that easy? I find this to be easy peasy. Maybe my explanation is not good enough. But once you understand what I’m trying to say, multiplication of 6’s is definitely easy to the max!

What about the multiplication of other numbers? Well, those will be revealed in my future posts! :D
